<image:title>About Kali + The Lounge</image:title>
<image:caption>Hi, I’m Kali (she/her). I'm the “kalioke” singing, joy in movement loving owner of Kalioke Movement Lounge in downtown Burlington, Iowa. I'm an enneagram 8 who has spent most of my adult life curious about why we’ve been conditioned to think our bodies are bad…. and then started teaching group fitness classes in a way that reminds us that they aren’t. As a trauma informed yoga instructor who has studied anxiety, eating disorders, body image and compulsive exercise, I know that our relationship with movement can be complicated and that certain conversations might keep us preoccupied with our bodies in unhelpful ways. This is why I'm committed to offering a space that's mirror-free and free of conversation about diets, weight loss, body size, measurements, calories, etc. It's important to me that participants practice upholding these studio values, and I'm grateful people see the value of this compassionate practice and are able to hold this type of safe space for each other. I am also the creator of (Re)Connect- a program designed to provide tools to those with anxiety- and an iMove facilitator helping individuals struggling with compulsive exercise heal their relationship with movement. I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope to see you on the mat soon. <3 Kali - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Training: 200 hour-RYT (Indigo Wellness) 50 hour Yoga for Trauma, Mental Health and Body Image (Sarah Ball Yoga and Counseling) 50 hour Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist (TIYT) (Sundara Yoga Therapy) Level 1 Movement for Trauma (Jane Clapp) Certified iMove Practitioner (Metrowest Nutrition) Yoga for All (Dianne Bondy/Amber Karnes) The Body Positive Training Level 5 Trauma Informed Care Training (Younghouse Family Services) Barre Above Instructor</image:caption>
